The Battle of Sledgby was the most horrific battle of the English Civil War. A regiment of crack Royalist chickens attacked a parliamentary army under the command of a human loyal to Oliver Cromwell. The result was a tragic cock a doodle doo. To this day the ghosts of those chickens still haunt the woods and fields of Sledgby. RIP Feddie 'Free Range' Fenton and all those other brave chickens who fought and died on that day. Just a pity they fought for the wrong side! Here's a moving short film about the battle.
